Hokum (Hulu). Missed it in theaters? Damian McCarthy's witch-in-a-hotel shocker, one of our picks for the scariest movie of the year, is streaming on Hulu this month.

Evil Dead Burn (HBO Max). The brutal new Deadite chapter landed on HBO Max on October 2.

V/H/S/Mixtape (Shudder). The found footage anthology is back with a music-themed entry, streaming only on Shudder.

Scream 7 (Prime Video). Ghostface arrived on Prime Video on October 16.

The Bride! (Prime Video). Maggie Gyllenhaal's wild Frankenstein reimagining hits Prime Video on October 23.

Hunting Matthew Nichols (Shudder). A brand-new Shudder exclusive dropping on Halloween night itself.

Prime Video also added a deep bench of classics on October 1, including Candyman, Child's Play, Hereditary, Midsommar, The Witch, X, Pearl and the original Universal Dracula and Frankenstein.

Horror on the Big Screen

Clayface opens in theaters October 23. Don't let the DC logo fool you; it's a full-on body horror movie.

Regal's 31 Screams on Screen series is running a horror classic every night through Halloween, with tickets listed at $7.99. Still to come: A Nightmare on Elm Street and Dream Warriors (Oct 18), The Blob (Oct 19), Evil Dead (Oct 20), Dawn of the Dead (Oct 21), Midsommar director's cut (Oct 23), Us (Oct 24), The Blair Witch Project (Oct 25), The Cabin in the Woods (Oct 27), It Follows (Oct 28), Christine (Oct 29), Halloween (Oct 30) and Trick 'r Treat on Halloween night.
